Eye Check Up Camp held by Senior Cintizens Council

Recently, Senior Citizens Council of Delhi, in association with Confederation of Senior Citizens Associations of Delhi organized free eye check up camp at Deer Park, Safdarjung Encalve which was inaugurated by Dr. Yoganand Shastri, Speaker, Delhi Vidhan Sabha.On the occasion Dr.Shastri said that such eye camps should be organized regularly to help senior citizens. He also appreciated the work being done for the cause and care of elderly by the Council/Confederation for the last so many years. Dr. Sameer Sood from Sharp Sight Center gave a talk on “How eyes could be cared” and gave many tips to the audience. He also suggested that senior citizens should get their eye checked regularly, particularly, at the age of 70 and above.Shri P. Kamraj, Joint Police Commissioner, also addressed the senior citizens and delivered a talk on “How senior citizens should take precautions for the safety and security of their life and property as far as Delhi Police is concerned”. He also told the audience that a Delhi Police Helpline no. 1291 is available for senior citizens for any assistance/redressal for their grievances. He further requested lonely senior citizens to approach Delhi Police for their registration so that they can be regularly visited by Beat Constables in their respective areas.

A no. of representatives of various Senior Citizens Associations affiliated to the Confederation also participated such as, Shri Balbir Singh Yadav (Dwarka), J.C. Narang and R.K. Katyal (Tagore Garden), I.P. Mullick (South Patel Nagar), S.P. Gupta (East of Kailash), Mr. B.R. Oberoi (Mehrauli), H.D. Ralhan (Green Park), Jagdish Singh Malik (Vasnt Kunj), R.G. Sharma (Safdarjung Enclave) and Phool Singh (mandavali, Fazalpur).

On this occasion, SHO of Safdarjung Enclave Police Station, Shri Sandeep Ghai and Inspector Mrs. Neeta Gehra of Senior Citizens Cell Delhi Police HQ were also present.
