FLO TO HOLD A SESSION ON FEMINISM ‘BEYOND GENDER ‘ IN UNITED NATIONS

A 45 women business delegation of FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO), the women business wing of trade body FICCI including women entrepreneurs and professionals from pan- India led by FLO president Ms Pinky Reddy is currently visiting United States of America (USA) on a 11 day business trip to strengthen Indo-US Trade relations from September 24- October3, 2018.

The all women delegation is visiting the USA with the objective of strengthening of mutual understanding, cooperation and exchange of ideas between Indian and American women entrepreneurs. Washington DC, New York and Boston are a part of the 11 days itinerary for the delegation.

“ During the First couple of days FLO organized A round table discussion and FLO signed an MoU with US India Business Council (USIBC) , the business advocacy group of America to find new business opportunities , building markets, job creation, as well as developing strategic networking and bringing growing women run enterprises into mainstream business between the Two countries .” said Ms Pinky Reddy, President , FLO in a statement from USA .

“ The major highlight of the visit will be a FLO session in United Nations with discussion on Feminism titled ‘Beyond Gender “ on September 29, 2018 .The Business Interest of the delegates varies from Education, health care, textile, chemicals, art, tourism, fertilizers, fashion, real estate, IT, advertising, photography, construction, hospitality, Chartered Accountant, gems & jewellery, amongst others. “ said Ms Reddy.

“FLO provides the most apt platform to connect with women entrepreneurs from different geographical locations, thereby promoting exchange of ideas and cooperation in the field of economic and social empowerment of women entrepreneurs. The primary objective of the delegation is exploring the synergies that exist between the USA & India for enhancing & deepening business engagements.” Said Ms Reddy.

“The theme of the delegation this year is business, policies, fashion, and art & culture. We are meeting with USIBC’s women’s wing for the Roundtable Discussion on ‘India, Entrepreneurship & Connectivity’ September 25, 2018. A Master class has been planned for the delegates on India- US Foreign Policy and India’s trade priority at Riggs Library, George Town University at Washington on September 25, 2018. We are also having a Master class at the Harvard University, School of Public Health on September 29th, we will be at the UN for an Interactive Session on the topic “Beyond Gender” on the September 30th at New York. Besides these we are meeting some of the best fashion brands, like Dolce Gabana, Chanel and Escada to understand the behind the scene and their best practices in the business. “added Ms Reddy.
