JM International School held a special morning assembly on January 17 2011, to welcome, Ms Marilyn Wiber, Director Curriculum Services and Geography Teacher at Mentone Girls’ Grammar School, Australia. Her visit is a part of Exchange Programme with Australian school.
A series of vibrant Cultural programme mainly comprising of folk dances of Bengal, Rajasthan and dance performances depicting existing religious faith and beliefs were carried out marvellously by the students. The ketputli dance- string puppet show was most liked by all for its artistic and uniquenes. School report given by students informed the guest about Education System including achievements, different competitions and ways of celebration of varied national and international festivals. Ms Merilyn in her address to students shared her experiences, of her visit to various historical places. She was delighted to see the positive transformation done structurally and academically, after her first visit to India in the year 1990.
The delegate was then taken for a visit around the campus highlighting the different facilities offered by the school. This was followed by an interaction with student council and class VIII and IX student. The students posed challenging questions to the guests, which resulted in an intelligent dialogue and discussion on Australian education pattern and geographical history.
It was heartening to receive the high appreciation from the guest for students and teachers. The school felt proud to begin exchange programme with Australia as it provides an excellent opportunity to enhance knowledge by knowing ways of education at other side of the world.
