A Mini-Marathon was organized by Apeejay School of Management and Apeejay Institute of Mass Communications at Dwarka on Sunday Feb 23, 2014. The theme of the marathon was “Women Safety”. The effort was to sensitize the community particularly the residents of Dwarka about women safety. Mrs. Sudha Sinha, Editor Dwarka City, Mr. Mukesh Sinha, Mg. Editor Dwarka City, a social worker and member executive body BJP Delhi Pradesh & and Dr Alok Saklani (Director, Apeejay School Of management) flagged off the marathon. Hundreds of students of Apeejay and different schools, faculty, staff of Apeejay School of Management and Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication and also the residents of the Dwarka housing societies participated in the 6.5 kilometer long marathon. The enthusiasm to run in this marathon was shared equally by the participants . The event was sponsored by More, Yakult, Dental Quest and Gupta realtors and many more. Addressing the participants, Mrs. Sudha Sinha emphasise the importance of women safety. Mr. Mukesh Sinha valued the efforts of the Apeejay Institutes in organizing such functions regularly as part of their social commitment towards the society.
The winners were given prizes in different categories with Mr. krishna kumar(first) sandeep(second), seven sabastian(third) bagged the prizes in open category, pratibha won the first prize in women’s category and Dr. Shweta jha won the second prize in women’s category. In fourth class category nitin stood first and Dr. Digamber bagged the first prize in Faculty and staff category. Nitin Arora(boy) and Savi(girl) won in the Apeejay student’s category. Piyush bisht won in the kid’s category.
