Taking this immediate decision the very next day on 9th Nov, 2016, the Producer Director Yesudas BC and Executive Producer Amarjit Singh Kohli, in a joint statement said “ Since the sudden announcement of demonitization of Rs 1000 & Rs 500 notes by Prime Minister Modi on evening of 8th Nov, 2016, a large number of requests from cine-goers have been constantly pouring in explaining that they (cine-goers) are having acute shortage of Rs 100/ & lower currency notes due to the closure of banks on 9th Nov, 2016 and the subsequent restriction on the maximum amount of withdrawal of money from banks and ATMs”. Therefore, it is not feasible for them to see the movie till the time currency gets stabilized, and the easy availability of currency notes of Rs 100 and below is assured to the general public.
