ROKO CANCER HELD BREAST AND CERVICAL CANCER CHECK UP CAMPS ACROSS DELHI & NCR


UK based NGO Roko cancer working for preventing and generating awareness about cancer worldwide along with Lioness Association held various multiple health camps in capital and the NCR region for the under privileged and socially economically weaker sections of the society from September 14- September 26.

“This initiative is aimed at early detection and awareness of cancers by providing free cancer detection checkups for women majorly for Breast Cancer (Mammography), Cervical Cancer (Pap Smear) and for people on Oral Cancer.

The goal of these camps is to educate and encourage early detection of cancer through regular screening and examinations. A Fully equipped Mobile Breast Cancer Detection unit travel to the camp venue to perform checkups and mammograms to screen for breast cancer. Each mobile unit has diagnostic equipment and a team of doctors and volunteers conducting cancer detection camps free of cost.” Said Megha Rakyan ,convenor of the camps.

This campaign has been completed in Wazirabad, Gurgaon (14thSep), PitamPura in Delhi (16th Sep) and Suraj kund, Faridabad (17th Sep) successfully. The count for OPD (eye checkups) have crossed the 700 mark and free spectacles have been distributed to around 500+ people along with free medicines to all attending the camp.
