A special assembly was organised at Sri Venkateshwar International School , Sector 18, Dwarka on the morning of January 10, 2019 commemorating the International Day of Hindi. The aim of commemorating the World Hindi day was to spread awareness about this beautiful language and to empower it as an international language of communication.
Dwarka Parichay Media Group and the Nepalese magazine Himalini , with an aim to spread the love for the Hindi language, organised a special gathering of students with the senior journalist Mr. S. S. Dogra. The theme of this assembly was ‘We and our language Hindi’.
The school Principal Mrs. Nita Arora who herself is an ardent believer in the power of languages and good communication, in her message stated that the Indian culture has been consolidated through Hindi. It is not only for communication but also a medium for spreading love for our nation and a spirit of camaraderie. The promotion of Hindi is closely tied up with the progress of our nation. Hindi is our identity and each of us must take pride in learning and speaking it.
The Chief Guest Mr. Dogra in his address to the students stated that the usage of Hindi becomes imperative for the unity of our country. We must endeavour to communicate in Hindi just as the Russians and the Chinese do. Our mother tongue should be our pride.
On this occasion the students and the teachers Ms. Preeti Thakran, Ms. Jyoti Vats and Ms. Sarita also expressed their views effectively. A One Act play ‘Gandhari ka Shrap’ and a skit ‘Kanwa Naii’ were also staged by the students on how Hindi plays an important role in communication and binds our community.
The assembly was well organised by Ms. Vineet Tomer and Ms. Shweta Kathuria and more than 250 students participated in it. The students Mehak and Nalin of class VII effectively compered the assembly. Mr. S. S. Dogra was felicitated with a planter as a token of green accord.
The assembly concluded with the rendition of the national anthem by all present. The students pledged to give reverence to their mother tongue Hindi and to learn and communicate effectively in Hindi.
