Mr Raj Pal, the founder Chairman, Mr Sailander Solanki , the Chairman, Group Captain Ishwar singh , the Advisor and Nita Arora, the school Principal felicitated the national winners of `Recess 2011- Symphony for Harmony’ an Inter-School band competition with gold medals and certificates received from Childreach International, which is a development organization that empowers children across the world to achieve their right to education, healthcare and a dignified life.
The Preliminary for `Recess 2011’ was held at SVIS auditorium and gave the musicians the much coveted entry to the finals. 244 schools from all over the nation participated in the initial competition and only ten best could make it to the finals.
The lead singers Soham Ray, Pranav Suri & Niharika Sharma set the rhythm for the instrumentalists to belt out the symphony. The diminuendo rose to a crescendo. Shaunak, Devvrat, Sanyam, Ramit, Satwik and Rhea added to the magic through their accompaniment on keyboard, drums and guitar. The group was the only one to get a standing ovation from the judges and audience.
The youngest performers in the finals finally outdid their contemporaries to the bag the coveted RECESS 2011 Trophy. The icing on the cake was the double win of the Best Message Trophy as well as Rhea and Shaunaq exhorted one and all to manifest the inherent goodness in their hearts.
With this win Sri Venkateshwarites were promised an opportunity to cut an album with the famous playback singer Mohit Chauhan of the movie ‘Rockstar’ fame & got an opportunity to meet the famous Indian band Parikrama , plus a direct entry to Recess-2012 to be held at United Kingdom.
Childreach International India also launched their innovative programme on the occasion of Recess 2011, “Ek Din Swadeshi”- India meets Bharat, which aims to build a generation of socially responsible and sensitized individuals. Nine students from school were the first ones to embark on this journey later in the next month.
Certificates and individual gold medals were personally delivered with a commendation letter by the Program Manager Ms Amita Sharma.
