‘Sukh Dukh Ke Saathi’ Celebrated Children’s Day
“Sukh Dukh Ke Saathi Sanstha” (SDKS) celebrated Children Day (Bal Divas) on 14th November 2015 in Sector-22 Dwarka to mark birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, with gusto. General Secretary of the Sanstha Mr. P.B. Mishra informed that Bal Diwas is being celebrated by SDKS for past five years regularly since after inception of the Sanstha. According to Shri D.C. Mathur, Secretary SDKS, “Our main focus in such programmes has always been on less privileged class children. Family kids of SKDS members are also made to join them hand to hand so as to boost their morale and inculcate sense of equality”. M.L.A. of the area Shri Gulab Singh graced the occasion as Guest of Honour and Shri Prem Chand, Dy. Director (D.D.A. Horticulture) was present as Chief Guest.
Sixty two children of the age between five to fifteen years participated in painting competition and sports events of different level organized by the association on this occasion. The celebration was full of enthusiasm. Shri Shashi Kant Kapoor, President SDKS, coordinated and managed the whole show. He was of the opinion that “such programmes are a big tool to generate a sense of confidence in the children of under-privileged class of the society and to have faith in others. On the other hand it helps in developing a sense of responsibility and brotherhood in better placed children”. “Sukh Dukh Ke Saathi Sanstha keeps organizing such programmes, very often”, said Capt S.S. Mann, Vice Presedent of the Sanstha. “We remain in close touch with the workers of Horticulture and Sanitation departments etc and work with them shoulder to shoulder to keep our area clean and green. Involvement of their children in such programmes brings us closer and motivate them to work harder”, he further said.
In his speech Shri Gulab Singh, M.L.A. praised the SDKS for organizing such events for encouragement of the children of weaker section of the society and mixing children of all classes for inculcating sense of equality. Chief Guest Shri Prem Chand also praised the Sanstha for its noble activities of social service and assistance to the Horticulture department in maintenance of greenery in the area. Both the honorable guests distributed prizes to the winner children of painting competition and the sports events and addressed the children encouraging them to dream big and work hard to achieve the best in their life. Consolation prizes were given to all other children to keep their morale up. Mrs. Raji Kurup, founder President of the NGO ‘Hello Moms’ working for welfare of the weaker class children, also addressed the gathering. Refreshment was served to all the children and others present there.
The two hour programme was full of enthusiasm. Cheerful faces of everybody present there were clearly telling the story of their joy and contentment. The people of the area were so impressed that many by-passers not only joined the show and praised the efforts of “Sukh Dukh Ke Saathi Sanstha” but few of them, e.g. Shri Tarun Kapoor of Udyog Vihar, Proprietor ‘City Medico’ of Maneesh Mall and Shri Sharma of Nav Sansad Vihar (all from Sector-22 Dwarka), came forward on their own to contribute towards the expenditures on refreshment and prizes for the children in cash and kind. Initially Shri V.K. Goyal of SDKS provided refreshment packets for the participating children. Ceremony ended with a warm vote of thanks by Col. P.C. Chaudhary, Secretary of SDKS.
