Sixty two children of the age between five to fifteen years participated in painting competition and sports events of different level organized by the association on this occasion. The celebration was full of enthusiasm. Shri Shashi Kant Kapoor, President SDKS, coordinated and managed the whole show. He was of the opinion that “such programmes are a big tool to generate a sense of confidence in the children of under-privileged class of the society and to have faith in others. On the other hand it helps in developing a sense of responsibility and brotherhood in better placed children”. “Sukh Dukh Ke Saathi Sanstha keeps organizing such programmes, very often”, said Capt S.S. Mann, Vice Presedent of the Sanstha. “We remain in close touch with the workers of Horticulture and Sanitation departments etc and work with them shoulder to shoulder to keep our area clean and green. Involvement of their children in such programmes brings us closer and motivate them to work harder”, he further said.
The two hour programme was full of enthusiasm. Cheerful faces of everybody present there were clearly telling the story of their joy and contentment. The people of the area were so impressed that many by-passers not only joined the show and praised the efforts of “Sukh Dukh Ke Saathi Sanstha” but few of them, e.g. Shri Tarun Kapoor of Udyog Vihar, Proprietor ‘City Medico’ of Maneesh Mall and Shri Sharma of Nav Sansad Vihar (all from Sector-22 Dwarka), came forward on their own to contribute towards the expenditures on refreshment and prizes for the children in cash and kind. Initially Shri V.K. Goyal of SDKS provided refreshment packets for the participating children. Ceremony ended with a warm vote of thanks by Col. P.C. Chaudhary, Secretary of SDKS.
