The community hall of Ganpati Apartment at Sector 9, Dwarka reverberated with music in the evening of 2nd February. As Mr. Mohinder Sarin of the ghazal fame took the stage along with Ms. Mitali Chakraborty and Ms. Shashilata, everyone was ecstatic. Even though past eighty, Mr. Sarin’s voice still showed what it was in his heydays. The occasion was “Basant Panchami Celebrations” organized by Melody Foundation, the school of music.
The programme started with Guru Puja, performed by Mr. Avinash Ghasi of the Art of Living Foundation. This was followed by a Satsang by Gautam Ji.
Mr. P P Bansal, president of Ganpati Apartment felicitated the artists and thanked the audience. Ms. Madhumita Acharyya Biswas, the principal of Melody Foundation said that this was the second musical programme of Melody Foundation to promote Indian music in Dwarka and she was greatly encouraged that many cooperative housing societies are inviting Melody Foundation to organize programmes of this kind.
