Venkateshwar International School celebrated its Grandparents’ Day

Venkateshwar International School, Sector 10 Dwarka, celebrated its Grandparents’ Day with boundless zeal and fervour. 

The programme began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed by floral welcome of the Chief Guest, Shri. Suraj Prakash, Director Training Center, Bal Bharti Public School, Pitampura and the School Chairman revered Mr. Rajpal. 

This was followed by the welcome address by the School Director and Founder Principal, Mrs. Mrinalini Kaura who spoke about the significance of grandparents in the lives of grandchildren.  The theme of the programme was ‘unity in diversity’ emphasising upon the fact that we should learn from nature how to live in harmony.

The programme was a galaxy of dances ranging from the divine Krishna  Rasleela, electrifying animal dance, foot tapping birds dance to captivating Indian folk dances like the energetic Punjabi dance, the phenomenal Bihu and Rajasthani dances. The show culminated with a poignant patriotic performance on the song ‘Ae mere watan ke logon’. 

The audience observed a two-minute silence to honour their supreme sacrifice.  The highlight of the show were the tiny anchors, Manas and Maanya, who enticed the audience with their flawless oration. The perfection with which the kids performed left everyone awestruck. The programme culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by the headmistress, Ms. Poonam.
