The 2nd International Conference on Interventional Pain Management and Pain Certification Course with Cadaveric workshop and Ultrasound workshop , organized by World Institute of Pain, India Section in association with All India Institute of Medical sciences was held at the JLN Auditorium, AIIMS from 24th to 26th August 2012. The conference was a great success, with more than 500 attendees –the largest meetings for Interventional Pain ever held in India! Delegates registrations were from USA, UK, Australia, Sudan, Nigeria, Srilanka, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan.
Owing to the participation and contribution of wonderful faculty, ICIPM was able to fulfill its mission with great success and lot of high appraisal. More than 70% Delegates rated ICIPM2012 as A+.
The Inaugural Ceremony was witnessed by more than 800 Guests and the distinguished VIP’S for the opening ceremony were Dr KK Talwar, Chairman Medical council of India; Dr R C Deka, Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences; Prof P Prithvi Raj, Founder and Past President WIP from USA; Dr YK Batra, President ISSP, Dr Gautam Das, Chairman WIP-India section; Dr Sushma Bhatnagar, Organizing chairperson welcomed the gathering and Dr Pankaj N Surange Organizing Secretary gave the Vote of Thanks.
Fluoroscopic Guided Cadaveric Workshop and Ultrasound guided pain Interventions workshop was attended by 196 Delegates. Live telecast of Robotic assisted CT guided Interventional Pain procedures were also demonstrated to the Delegates.
Dr Surange, Secretary World Institute of Pain and Director of Interventional Pain and Spine center informed that this year witnessed record Postgraduate student’s attendance which showed the enthusiasm of young Anesthesiologist towards the development of Specialty of Pain Medicine.
This meeting was highly praised by its scale and academic standard. More than 40 internationally renowned faculty members with expertise in Interventional Pain contributed 70 wonderful presentations in this meeting. Some of the participating faculty were present or past presidents of various National and international organizations, including ISSP past Presidents Dr R P Gehdoo, Dr P N Jain; IAPC President Dr NageshSimha; Dr Jose Rodriguez, section Chair WIP; Dr Craig Hartrick; Dr Peter Courtney, Chairman WIP-Australia Section; Meanwhile, 26 WIP Members from India participated in and gave lectures in the Pain Certification (FIPP) Review Course.
