14th Annual Sports Gala held in Dwarka Sports Complex

17th Dec.,08. The 14th Annual Sports Gala concluded at Dwarka Sports Complex. During two weeks long events like Inter School basketball championship, Tennis, Squash, Table Tennis and Snooker etc, were played. Hundreds of athletes took part in it. According to Col. I.K. Bedi-Secretary & Mr.Vijay Kumar Verma-Manager of the complex, Vikas won the Man’s single title defeating Sthane Stephens, in woman section, Anju Rawat beat Pratima Menon in double’s final match Vikas & Arvind defeated Sthane Stephens & Amit in Table Tennis game. In Squash, Rudrakash beat Hemant, while Sachin Verma defeated Ravinder in Single and pair of Atul & Anil beat Ravinder & Mohinder in Double’s Lawn Tennis game. Rajiv Solanki won the Snooker title by defeating Vikas in the final. Sixteen teams from different school participated in the Inter school Basketball championship and this event was won by Jindal Public School defeating Indra Ideal School. On the occasion of the prize distribution ceremony, Chief Guest, Arjun Awardee Sh. Mohinder Lal-( Pistol shooter who represented India during Los Angles Olympic 1984) gave away trophies to all the winners and runners up players.
