On the eve of the Prakatotsav of Maharshi Valmiki, a grand programme was organised by the Delhi BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha at Pradesh Office today. In this programme, 1100 lamps were lighted and musical tribute was paid to Maharshi Balmiki with Sufi Sangeet Bhajan Sandhya. Union Minister Shri Thawarchand Gehlot addressed this programme and as mark of respect to the Sants of Valmiki Community he washed their feet. Pradesh Organization General Secretary Shri Siddharthan, General Secretary Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal, SDMC Mayor Smt. Sunita Kangda, Morcha General Secretaries Shri Lajpat Rai, Shri Rahul Gautam were present on this occasion. SC Morcha President Shri Mohan Lal Gihara conducted the programme.
Felicitating the people of Delhi on the occasion of Valmiki Prakatotsav, Union Minister Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot said that following the Sant tradition, Maharshi Valmiki created such Mahakavya whose characters are being worshipped as Gods. He said that on this occasion, separate programmes will be organised in various parts of Delhi. Following the thoughts of the great Sants, BJP is taking all together with its motto Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas or Sabka Vishwash. Our objective is positive politics by following our culture. Negative politics is not helpful for the public welfare. BJP is the only party which believes in Antyodaya and it has worked for the development of SCs/STs and other backward classes. Since, the foundation of Jansangh we have been in the favor of protecting the rights of these communities. We pledged to eradicate untouchability, reservation for the backwards, stringent punishments for atrocities against dalits and also financial assistance to them. Modi Government has decided to grant 2-5 lakh rupees for celebrating anniversary of the great personalities.
Organization General Secretary Shri Siddharthan said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi, SC and ST Commission was reconstituted and separate commission was constituted for the OBCs. For the first time in the year 2016, the Central Government included a tableau in Republic Day parade giving respect to Baba Sahab Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
Pradesh General Secretary Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal said that Modi Government has developed five places connected with the life of Baba Saheb as Panchtirth and a memorial has constructed at Alipur Road at the cost of 100 crores where he took his last breath. Ambedkar International Centre has also been constructed at the cost of crores. Modi Government has given real respect to Baba Saheb who worked for the eradication of religious and social disparities.
Morcha President Shri Mohan Lal Gihara said that BJP is continuously working for the development of this community and people of this community are also connecting with BJP. I express my gratitude to every member of this community for it.
