Hetauda, Nepal | August 2, 2025
In a day filled with vision, warmth and inspiration, Hetauda Academy had the privilege of hosting one of Nepal’s most influential industrialists and philanthropists — Ajeya Raj Sumargi Parajuli. Accompanied by Mam Adhikary and Aabhas Adhikary, Mr. Sumargi toured the campus, offering encouragement and insight to the next generation of learners.
Mr. Sumargi is the Chairman of Muktishree Group, a leading conglomerate with a diverse footprint in telecommunications, cement, hospitality, education and hydropower. His visit resonated far beyond business — it echoed his enduring commitment to educational transformation and national development.
He was warmly welcomed with garlands by the Academy’s leadership team, including Chairman Arun Raj Sumargi, Vice Chairperson Ankita Sumargi, Principal Archana Upreti, and senior faculty members Mr. Dipendra Pathak, Mr. Suman, Mr. Manoj, and Primary Department Head Mrs. Sabitri. A heartfelt interaction with young students and informal dialogue with teaching and support staff added a personal and emotional touch to the day.
A Call to Aim Higher
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sumargi delivered an inspiring message, urging the Hetauda Academy community to pursue excellence and aspire to make the institution a national symbol of academic distinction. His presence injected renewed energy, hope, and purpose into the academic environment.
A Thought-Provoking Dialogue with Prof. S.S. Dogra
A highlight of the day was Mr. Sumargi’s engaging discussion with Prof. S.S. Dogra, a senior journalist, author, and media literacy campaigner from Delhi, India. Prof. Dogra is currently invited in Nepal as a special guest of Hetauda Academy, conducting workshops on media empowerment for students and staff.
Their conversation centered on the three symbolic motifs featured in Mr. Sumargi’s widely appreciated autobiography — the telescope, the door, and the latch — representing vision, opportunity, and unlocking potential, respectively.
As a gesture of mutual respect, Mr. Sumargi presented a signed copy of his autobiography to Prof. Dogra, who described it as “a priceless treasure.” Mr. Sumargi also expressed his wish for Prof. Dogra to continue sharing his experience with the Academy in the future. The autobiography was also lovingly gifted to the Academy’s talented young social media in-charge, Sakshyam Chphetri.
More Than a Visit — A Legacy in Motion
Ajeya Raj Sumargi’s visit was not just ceremonial — it was a powerful reaffirmation of his deep-rooted dedication to education, leadership, and nation-building. From successful entrepreneur to visionary social reformer, his journey continues to serve as a living inspiration for today’s youth.
This memorable interaction at Hetauda Academy left an indelible mark on all who attended — enriching the educational atmosphere with a new sense of direction, purpose, and possibility.
