Kavya Homestay, located in Champawat, has been honored with the second prize in the Best Homestay Awards–2025 organized by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB). The award was presented by Shri Dheeraj Singh Garbyal, Chief Executive Officer, UTDB, at a ceremony held in Dehradun.
Recognized for its excellent hospitality, cultural preservation, cleanliness, and dedication to community-based tourism development, Kavya Homestay—run by Madan Singh Bohra and Heera Devi—has now become an outstanding example of responsible rural tourism in the Himalayan region. Through their Kanda Valley Trust, both have been actively contributing to women’s empowerment, education, and eco-rural development.
Devendra Singh Rawat, Branch Manager, Nainital Bank, Champawat, and renowned author-journalist Prof. S.S. Dogra appreciated this achievement, calling it “a moment of pride for the entire district.”
