On October 1, 2013, the students of The Indian Heights School celebrated the birth of Mahatma Gandhi by starting the day with special assembly where a floral tribute was paid to the father of our nation. Students of class VII put up a spectacular show and enthralled the audience with their melodious voice by singing Gandhiji’s favourite prayer, “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, Patit Pavan SitaRam” and “Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye Je Peer Parayi”.
Students of class IX performed a skit in lieu of Gandhiji’s birthday where they propagated Gandhiji’s message of Ahimsa and his teaching of tolerance, patience, mutual respect and the necessity of developing an indomitable will. They were also told about Gandhiji’s life and philosophy’s and the need to imbibe Gandhian values in our lives. This special assembly on Gandhi Jayanti left a very positive impact on the students. The entire school seemed to feel the essence of Gandhiji’s presence.
