Every generation witnesses a few extraordinary individuals who redefine the meaning of courage and achievement. Rahul Gupta and Rohit Gupta, twin brothers from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, are among those rare personalities whose lives demonstrate that determination, talent and mutual support can triumph over every obstacle. Born with disabilities, they have transformed challenges into opportunities, emerging as role models in public service, banking, sports, education and social empowerment. Their inspiring journey is a celebration of resilience, excellence and an unwavering belief that no dream is beyond reach.
“A Journey of Determination”
From an early age, Rahul and Rohit refused to let disability define their future. Instead, they chose to redefine their abilities through education, hard work and perseverance. Their academic excellence became the foundation upon which they built remarkable careers and inspiring lives.
“Rahul Gupta: Designing Success Through Service”
Rahul Gupta graduated in Architecture from the Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Divyangjan, Kanpur, securing the top position in his discipline. He began his professional career by working on several prestigious architectural projects and was selected by renowned government organisations, including CPWD and Indian Railways.
His relentless pursuit of excellence culminated in his selection through the UPSC Civil Services Examination, 2017. Today, he serves the Government of India as an Enforcement Officer, contributing to the nation’s administrative framework with dedication and integrity.
Beyond his official responsibilities, Rahul is deeply committed to mentoring young aspirants. Through his popular YouTube platform, “Officer Adda,” he provides free guidance for UPSC and other competitive examinations, empowering thousands of students, including persons with disabilities, to pursue their dreams with confidence.
“Rohit Gupta: Excellence in Technology & Banking”
Rohit Gupta graduated as the Computer Science topper from the same institute, demonstrating exceptional academic brilliance. Today, he serves as a Senior Manager with the Central Bank of India, where his professionalism, leadership and commitment continue to earn widespread appreciation. His journey reflects the power of perseverance, discipline and continuous learning.
“Champions Beyond Their Professions”
While many know them for their professional accomplishments, Rahul and Rohit have also emerged as accomplished sportspersons representing India on international platforms.
Being twin brothers, they never lacked a teammate. Their unique bond became their greatest strength, inspiring and motivating each other through every challenge. Their passion for cricket, shooting, and darts reflects their belief that sports cultivate discipline, confidence, leadership, resilience and patriotism.
“Leading India in Sri Lanka”
Recently, the brothers represented India during an international cricket tour to Sri Lanka, where Rahul Gupta captained the Indian team. Their outstanding performances won widespread appreciation, while videos from the tour attracted millions of views on social media, inspiring countless young athletes and persons with disabilities to dream beyond limitations.
Historic Success at the Malaysia Open Darts Championship 2026
Another defining chapter in their sporting journey came at the prestigious Malaysia Open Darts Championship 2026, where they represented India among 243 participants from 12 countries, including both para-athletes and able-bodied competitors.
Competing at one of Asia’s most competitive international darts tournaments, they displayed remarkable composure, precision, and determination to win a historic Bronze Medal for India. Their achievement brought immense pride not only to Kanpur and Uttar Pradesh but also to the entire nation, reaffirming a timeless truth:
“Talent is never limited by physical ability.”
Today, Rahul and Rohit are widely recognised as Para Sports Icons, inspiring a new generation to embrace challenges with courage and confidence.
During the Malaysia Open Darts Championship 2026, I had the privilege of sharing a room with Rahul and Rohit Gupta. Beyond their remarkable achievements, what impressed me most was their humility, simplicity and genuine warmth. Despite their success, they remained exceptionally grounded, cooperative and considerate. Spending time with these inspiring twin brothers was a memorable experience and I truly enjoyed their company. Their character is as admirable as their accomplishments, making them not only outstanding sportspersons but also exemplary human beings.
“Empowering Through Education”
Their contribution extends far beyond careers and sports. Together, they have authored a comprehensive and widely appreciated book on Labour Law, which has become an invaluable resource for competitive examination aspirants. Their educational initiatives through The Officer Adda continue to guide and motivate thousands of students across India.
“The Strength of Brotherhood”
Perhaps the most inspiring aspect of their journey is the extraordinary partnership they share. Rahul initially mentored Rohit through his academic and professional journey. Later, after Rohit’s success, he became Rahul’s strongest support in preparing for higher competitive examinations. Together, they proved that success multiplies when built on trust, teamwork, and unconditional support.
Behind every achievement stands a family whose faith, encouragement, and love became the strongest pillar of their remarkable journey.
“Eyes on Manchester:
Ready to Script Another Chapter of History”
Fresh from their remarkable international achievements, Rahul Gupta and Rohit Gupta are now preparing for their next global challenge as they gear up to represent India at the Para Darts World Championship, to be held in Manchester, United Kingdom, from 24–30 August 2026.
Recognised as one of the world’s premier international para darts events, the championship is being organised by the World Disability Darts Association (WDDA) under the visionary leadership of its Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Ted McMillan. The event will bring together the world’s finest para darts players, offering the inspiring twin brothers another opportunity to showcase their talent, resilience, and sporting excellence on the global stage.
Expressing complete confidence in the duo, Mahendra Singh, Founder and General Secretary of the Indian Disability Darts Association (IDDA), believes that Rahul and Rohit are poised to create history once again. Reflecting on their consistent international performances and unwavering determination, he said he is confident that the twin brothers will once again bring glory to India through their exceptional skills, discipline and indomitable spirit.
“An Inspiration Beyond Sports”
As they prepare to compete in Manchester, Rahul and Rohit Gupta carry far more than the Indian Tricolour—they carry the hopes of a nation and the aspirations of millions who believe that courage, perseverance and unity can transform limitations into limitless possibilities.
Their remarkable journey is far more than a story of medals and achievements. It is a timeless testament to the power of education, family support, resilience and selfless service. Through public administration, banking, sports, mentorship and social commitment, these extraordinary twin brothers continue to redefine excellence, proving that true victory lies not in overcoming others, but in overcoming oneself.
Their lives remind us that determination has no disability, excellence knows no boundaries and together, two brothers can inspire an entire nation.
