With a view to educate/create awareness about the importance of B’day of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru as a Childrens Day, Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi Sanstha, Dwarka organized the event in the park behind Manish Globle Mall, Sec-22, Dwarka for the children from the poorest of the poor families, mainly of labour class working in & around Sec-22 of Dwarka.
Members were requested to look for such families/ children around the area & motivate/encourage their parents to send their wards to participate.Efforts made by the Sanstha yielded fruitful results. About 38 children upto the age group of 15 years had turned up to participate.Seeing the gathering, few children from the affluent families of nearby societies also joined/participated.
To give celebrative look, Sanstha had decorated portion of the ground with flowers,baloons & other attractive items,which got the attention of morning walkers who applauded the initiative taken by Sanstha particularly for poor children.
To create a sense of participation by all, children were divided in three age groups. Various activities were held like Treasure Hunt,Bannana race, Spoon race,50-100 meter race,Ring catch, Colouring competition etc. Besides giving prizes to the achievers, gift items were also given to each participant. All the children were also served drinking water,choclate,biscuits,toffees,bannans.
At the end,Shri Vijay Shankar Singh, President of Sanstha addressed all the children/participants. He briefly touched the background/importance of the Children Day & conveyed thanks to all for making the event successful.
