Visitors to the camp were also educated about organ donation and around 10 of them pledged their organs to Organ Retrieval Banking Organisation (All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi). “Organ Donation is a Gift of Life” were the words of Smt Fotedar(age – 60) while signing the pledge
form.
Ek Sangharsh organized the camp very well and invited people from various colleges and RWA’s. There were people who joined in from places as far as Bahadurgarh and Faridabad in Haryana. The event was publicized well with the help of social media.
Speaking to the donors and Ek Sangharsh volunteers, Shri Ajay Bahl, an RTI Activist from Faridabad said ‘It feels good to donate blood and help someone in need. This is the best possible contribution towards human race.’
The donors were provided nutritious snacks, fruits and juice. All donors were also given a certificate and donor’s card. The donor’s card can be used for getting blood for anyone in need from the donor’s family.
‘It was first experience for team Ek Sangharsh and we got an overwhelming response from locals. People were really excited about donating blood as it made them feel proud to be helping someone in need. We have taken feedback from all donors. We will be organizing more such camps at various places in Delhi. Hope citizens will stay connected with Ek Sangharsh in all our initiatives for social welfare’, said Shobhit Chauhan, Founder President of Ek Sangharsh.
