PK Datta, Naturalist organised a meeting at Nava Kairali Apartments, Sector 3 between officials of Delhi Parks & Gardens Society (DP & GS) and representatives of Dwarka CGHS/RWAs for an interactive discussion on “Financial Assistance Scheme” of DP & GS for maintenance of green areas within the premises of housing societies and DDA flats largely attended by Dwarka community.
Welcoming the officials of DP&GS, Datta spoke about the scheme and urged people to come forward to avail the same and extended all help for facilitating procedural formalities by CGHS/RWAs with DP&GS.
Shri Radhey Shyam, Range Officer of DP&GS explained the scheme in detail and answered queries from the participants and praised efforts made by Datta in bringing together a sizeable number of people together at one platform in one go which was more than their efforts of last three years. Sanction orders for releasing payment were handed over to the office bearers of eight societies amidst applause by the gathering.
Mukesh Sinha appealed to all present to promote the scheme in their neighbourhood and promised to give the scheme a wider coverage through Dwarka City and commended the initiative of PK Datta in promoting the scheme.
C K Rejimon of Dwarka Forum informed the gathering that the money was theirs and they should come forward to claim the same as the same was for a noble cause. He commended the initiative undertaken by Datta in reaching out to people in complying with the formalities.
Capt SS Mann of Dukh Sukh ke Sathi complimented Datta for his innovative ways of connecting people to plants for a sustainable living and made a request to launch a sector wise campaign for promoting the scheme. Mrs Cicily Kodiyan of ANHLGT wished Datta all success in his endeavour.
Applications received from a few societies were verified by Shri H S Dabas, Field Inspector of DP&GS on the spot. He also gave a few tips for encountering the termite menace. Jay Kumar, Secretary and Shri Ahuja, Vice President of Kairali Apartments exhorted all present to make Dwarka Green by availing different schemes of Delhi Government.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the managing committee of Nava Kairali for organising the meeting overnight.
