Association of poets in Dwarka, ‘Delhi Poetry Circle’ (DPC) organized a unique Kavi-Sammelan “Kavya Saurabh” in New Delhi Hindi Bhawan in the series of its events for accomplishing its aim of searching and promoting hidden literary talent in the Country, on the occasion of its second anniversary. Four eminent senior poets, Laxmi Shankar Bajpai, Dr. Kirti Kale, B. L. Gaur, Prem Bihari Mishra; four upcoming poets selected through a national talent hunt programme, Sukant Tiwari of Delhi, Arpit ‘Adab’ of Chandigarh, Ramnath ‘Shodharthee’ of Patna, Gaurav Trivedi of Delhi and four upcoming poets of Delhi Poetry Circle, Maya Agarwal, Ravindra Bharadwaj, Pankaj Sharma, Paramjeet Yadav ‘Kamdil’ recited their poems in this Kavi Sammelan, under the chairmanship of world renowned satirist, poet and educationalist Dr. Harish Naval. Three times World Record holder in Guinness Book of World Records, Dr. Ashok Kumar Jhingan was present in this programme as a special guest. The stage was managed by the senior poet Ashish Kandhawe. Presence of more than hundred litterateurs amongst the audience boosted the morale of budding poets. The programme was telecasted by the T.V. channel DD (India) of Doordarshan, once keeping in view the audience in India and again at the time suitable to Indians settled abroad, which have been well received everywhere.
According to Founder & President of Delhi Poetry Circle, Prem Bihari Mishra, “this Kavi ammelan was a bold step of DPC towards its efforts of uplifting hidden literary talent in the country, as its main objective Organizing Secretary, Astitwa ‘Ankur’ of DPC conceived this unique format of the programme and burnt his midnight oil in the selection process of the budding poets through a learned selection committee and putting them into practice”. This new experiment was really a challenge which was impossible to meet without devoted commitment and co-operation of entire Governing Body of the association. This highly successful programme has proved that there is lot of hidden unimaginable talent in our country. This programme will certainly boost the morale, self-confidence and enthusiasm of not only those eight budding poets who participated in this programme but of many other upcoming poets”.
