” Nature is the first environment a child interacts with and learns, so set him free!”- Rousseau
MBS, Dwarka organized an adventure camp for all students on 30th Oct’ 2010. The Perfect “Time Out” exciting outdoor activities at the Eco Adventure Camp were thoroughly enjoyed not only by senior students and faculty but also by lil ones of kindergarten. The focus was on environmental activities which were designed to enhance nature appreciation, appreciation of local resources and to help raise the eco-consciousness as well as the self-confidence levels of the students.
The day began with orientation of students to day long activities by Mr.Vashisht, the camp in-charge. The students set off on a journey of discovery of their own skills with wilderness of activities.
Whether it was Wall Climbing ,Zip Wire, Artificial river crossing to have courage or Double Rope Bridge, Barmah Bridge, Balance Beam expecting confidence to go through or even Slithering, Commando Net Rope, Commando Crawl, Rope Climbing testing every child’s potential, there was thrill &excitement all around. An effort to attempt and desire to succeed evidently displayed children’s enthusiasm. Preprimary children especially enjoyed the Camel Cart Ride, Tractor Ride and Puppet Show.
Team-orientation activities like ‘Assembly line’, ‘Acid River’, ‘Say what I say, do what I do’ provided ample opportunities of learning sharing & caring, improving communication skills, building confidence, and leadership skills in the young MBSians. The staff at the camp helped teams establish goals that called for planning, group decision-making, task designation, and group action.
It was indeed a wonderful experience for all, a unique, new, challenging, safe and fun learning experience for Preprimary as well as the Primary students.
