EMINENT BUSINESS WOMEN , ACTIVTISTS AND PROFESSIONALS TAKE PART IN THE ‘ GLOBAL MENTORING WALK’ IN NEW DELHI

Eminent business women , empowering females, artists, professionals from various walks of life took part in the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) Vital Voices’ Global Mentoring Walk in New Delhi today as part of the International Women’s day.

The annual event, called the Vital Voices Global Mentoring walk, began in 2008 in United States (US) is an opportunity to highlight the importance of women’s leadership, and to accelerate the impact of women leaders through mentoring. Commemorating the occasion of International Women’s Day. This year Empowering females are walking in more than 60 countries & 134 walks across the Globe in different cities , on the same day .

“FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), the oldest and largest Women Chamber of Commerce in South East Asia, has been working towards equality and empowerment of women for 34 years. For The Global Mentoring Walk in New Delhi, FLO has joined hands Vital Voices Global Leadership Network, which is the leading non-governmental organization (NGO) that identifies, trains and empowers emerging women leaders and social entrepreneurs around the globe, enabling them to create a better world.” Said Ms Vinita Bimbhet, while speaking on the occasion.

“During the Walk, the mentors shared their achievements, challenges and strategies in their journey and guide the aspiring ones, motivating them to grow in their respective areas. They will also highlight on the importance of building strong mentoring partnerships with young mentees, resulting in enhanced personal, professional and business development, thereby creating a pool of future women leaders, nurtured by existing ones. “Paying it forward” is the concept, on which this mentor-mentee network is based.” Ms Bimbhet said.
