Indira Gandhi National Open University Retired Employees Welfare Association, Regd. (IGNOU-REWA) in association with Venkateshwar Hospital, Dwarka, New Delhi organized a Health Awareness Sessions on HEART AND PROSTATE DISEASES on Saturday, the 20th June, 2026 at Hospital’s Auditorium.
Dr (Maj Gen) D. V. Singh, Principal Director, Department of Urology, Uro-Oncology, Robotics and Renal Transplant addressed on the subject of “ Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia & Cancer Prostate”. Whereas, Dr Saket Bhardwaj, Principal Director & Head, Department of Cardiology addressed the gathering on the subject of “Healthy Heart”.
Besides, the members of IGNOU retired employees welfare association, a large number of IGNOU in- service employees attended the sessions. Several attendees raised queries on both the sessions, which were well answered by the speakers. A lot of myths about heart and prostate diseases were cleared by the specialists.
During the sessions, more emphasis was given on prevention from Heart Diseases and Benign Prostrate Hyperplasia. Speakers also briefed about the best treatment available for these diseases.
Shri Manish Agrawal, Senior Deputy General Manager, of Venkateshwar Hospital shared the details of medical facilities available in the hospital and thanked IGNOU-REWA for coordinating with the hospital administration for organising these sessions. The sessions were followed by Lunch.
Members appreciated for organizing the sessions and requested to have more such sessions in future to which Shri Manish Agrawal readily agreed.
Shri A. S. Chhatwal, Vice President of IGNOU REWA and Coordinator of these sessions thanked all the members attended the Sessions and hospital management. He assured the members of IGNOU REWA to organise more such health sessions in future.
