LAXMAN SINGH BHANDARI WINS BRONZE AT ASIAN ARM WRESTLING

After winning one gold and one bronze medal in 2017, Laxman Singh Bhandari won another bronze medal in the 18th Asian Arm Wrestling championship 2019 held at Issyk Kul, Kyrgyzstan from 6-13 June 2019. He represented India under the aegis of Indian Arm Wrestling Federation.

He says that there are very strong players in his master 70 kg category and with his hard training and dedication, he was able to win the bronze medal for the country. Without any sponsorship or government support, he proactively incurred all the expenses of Asian championship and he believes that his medal will motivate and encourage thousands of others to join Arm Wrestling in India. He hopes that many sponsors will come forward to support this ancient sport of Arm Wrestling.

He is very confident that whenever Indian government recognizes this sport, lacs of people will join this game and make it one of the most popular sport in the country especially because it requires a smaller budget when it comes to playing, training and organizing the championships. Arm wrestling does not require the government to invest a lot of money in it and can also encourage people from Tier II and III cities to consider this sport for their living.

At present, lacs of player in India, across 28 states are already associated with and are playing regularly under the aegis of Indian Arm Wrestling Federation.
