In an exclusive interaction, senior journalist, author, and media educator Prof. S.S. Dogra speaks with K. Seagron, Secretary of Selangor State Darts, at Quayside Mall, on the sidelines of the Salon Goren Open Darts Championship in Malaysia.

K. Seagron: Thank you, Professor Dogra. It’s a pleasure to be here and share insights about this prestigious event.
Prof. S.S. Dogra: To begin with, could you tell me, how many participants are taking part in this championship?
K. Seagron: Certainly. A total of 247 dart players are participating in the championship, including 206 men and 41 women. The response has been very encouraging.
Prof. S.S. Dogra: That’s impressive participation. Could you also tell us which organization is behind the organization of this championship?
K. Seagron: The championship is being organized by the Selangor Association, which is affiliated with the Malaysia Darts Association, ensuring proper structure and professionalism in the event.
Prof. S.S. Dogra: How international is this event in terms of participation?
K. Seagron: It is truly an international championship. Players from countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines and India are participating, making it a vibrant global competition.
Prof. S.S. Dogra: Could you elaborate on the different categories featured in the championship?
K. Seagron: Yes, the championship includes a wide range of categories such as Team Open, Women’s events, Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Youth competitions and Singles. Additionally, Para Darts events are a significant part of the championship, including both wheelchair and standing categories, promoting inclusivity in sports.
Prof. S.S. Dogra: Lastly, could you tell us about the affiliation and authorization of this championship?
K. Seagron: The championship is affiliated with and authorized by Malaysia Darts Education, which is further linked to the World Darts Federation, ensuring that the tournament meets international standards.
