The dazzling tale of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ was staged live at SVIS by the students of Grade III on Sep 20, 2018. The programme commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the principal Ms Nita Arora, the Chief Guest Ms Vibha Bisht, an eminent media person with AIR and Doordarshan and the Guest of Honour Group Captain Ashutosh Kapur, Chief Minister Awardee for Kerala Flood Relief.
The Principal addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the parents in ensuring that their children are confident and have the right values.
This was followed by a colourful and vibrant presentation of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ which brought out the creative best in students. It enabled them to make deeper connections with the story and its characters. The play emphasised the value of self confidence and self belief. It encouraged the children to understand that they should stop looking for outwardly happiness and peace and have the belief that whatever they desire, is already in them. The children thoroughly enjoyed anchoring and performing on the stage and put in their best of the efforts.
