As per the CBSE directives, St.Mary’s School , Dwarka observed the first week of November as Vigilance Awareness Week to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Bismarck of India Shri. Vallabh Bhai Patel. The ultimate aim of it was to make the students aware of the rampant corruption in the country and to motivate them to work for a corruption- free state. Many events were held in the form of inter-house competitions as part of the Awareness Week.
The first event was conducted on the 1st of November for the students of classes 6 to 8. The students were asked to develop cartoons and stories on instances from history on people who fought for a cause. It was organized under the able supervision of the teachers of history department. The participants sketched beautiful cartoons and portrayed different historical movements with appropriate captions. The judges for the events were Ms. Reena Khurana, Headmistress, Middle school and Mr.Jaison Mathew, PGT English.
A One Act Play on Problems Arising from Corruption was held on the 2nd November for the students of classes IX-X. The four houses that participated in the event brought out a number of issues arising from corruption and suggested remedies to eradicate corruption. The judges for the event were Mr. Rahul Khanna from the Asmita Group and Ms. Prarthana Srivastav from Ave Maria School.
An inter-house debate competition , was organized for the students of classes XI and XII on the 3rd November on the topic Corruption is the Price We Pay for Democracy. The participants strongly argued and put forward their views both for and against the motion. The judges were Ms. Shalini Kotamasi , the HOD, English Department and Commander Yashwant.
