Several Resident Welfare Associations (RWA’s) in National Capital Delhi expressing shock at recent violent happenings in neighbouring state Haryana have written to Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh to institute a CBI probe into the vandalizing of public property and commitment of heinous crimes against families ,mostly from Delhi during the Jat Andolan.
“As most of the affected families including women travelling on Highway No 1 near Muruthal, Sonipat in Haryana were from national capital Delhi expressing solidarity, apart from writing to Union Home Minister we have also written to Chief Justice of India, Supreme Court a as well as Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High court demanding independent probe from the country’s highest probe agency CBI into the vandalizing of private and public property and alleged violation of women at Muruthal, Sonipat : said angry Mr V.N.Bali , President , RWA Federation of Eat Delhi and member Delhi Resident’s forum, an apex body of RWA’s in the capital.
“We have also demanded strict disciplinary action against officials and Jawan’s of Haryana police and central forces for inaction during the violent vandalization including burning of shops and vehicles, taking the progressive state backward. Most of the police officials remained mute witness or vanished from duty during the events. The role of Haryana police seems dubious and need probe”said Mr Bali.
“We have also raised questions about ability of elected Haryana Government including Chief minister which miserably failed to protect the life honour and property of the public. We have also urged hon. Supreme court to formulate parameters to hold political parties and organisatons for damage of private and public property during agitations, sending a clear message that those indulging in violent protests are made to pay for the damages and punished as per law” said Varinder Arora, Convenor, Delhi Residents Forum.
