TIPS ORGANISED BLOOD DONATION CAMP IN ASSOCIATION WITH ROTARY BLOOD BANK


Trinity Institute of Professional Studies, (TIPS), Dwarka functioning under the aegis of KEWS, affiliated to GGSIPU, Delhi successfully organized a Blood donation camp on October 30, 2018 in the college premises in association with Rotary Blood Bank. The camp was an initiative of SEVARTH-the social club of TIPS.

The Blood Donation Camp began with the inauguration by Mahesh Gupta, President, Rotary Club of New Delhi, Prashant Sahgal, Past President Rotary Club of New Delhi, Vimal Gupta, Past President Rotary Club of New Delhi, Parveen Jain, Secretary Rotary Club of New Delhi and Dr. Amit K. Singh, Rotary Blood Bank. Dr. R. K. Tandon, Chairman TIPS and Dr. Vikas Rao Vadi, Director TIPS felicitated the guests with saplings.

The camp started at 10:00 am in the morning and continued till 04:00 pm witnessing a large number of students coming forward to donate blood and be a part of such a noble activity. Along with the bunch of enthusiastic students, Dr. R. K. Tandon, Chairman TIPS Dwarka and faculty members also came to support this cause of serving the humanity.

“One doesn’t need resources to help someone but it takes will power and few drops of healthy blood to save the lives of people”, said Dr. R. K Tandon , Chairman, TIPS. He also shared the story of Bill Gates and a newspaper hawker for enlightening the students and teachers of the Institute.

Welcoming the august gathering, Dr. Vikas Rao Vadi, Director, TIPS expressed gratitude to all for their esteemed presence and also highlighted the value of this life saving cause.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh Gupta, President, Rotary Club of New Delhi congratulated the people who came up to donate blood, realizing their responsibility towards the needs of the society.

Prashant Sahgal, Past President Rotary Club of New Delhi delivered his words of wisdom and motivated the donors for their initiative. He also expressed how important it is to organise such camps to save lives which are often lost due to non availability of blood at the right moment.

The Rotary Blood Bank diligently collected a total of 82 units of blood and 31 were rejected due to various reasons. The Donors were provided with Donor Certificates, medals and a Donor Card, which will be valid for One Year. Also, fruit juice, biscuits and bananas were offered to blood donors as refreshments.
