An ebullient evening at The Indian Heights School, sector 23, Dwarka marked the celebration of its 6th Annual Day, Vistas 2013, Manthan….A Mystical Quest on December 01, 2013 in the school premise.
The school wore a festive look with enthusiastic and shining faces. The evening was reserved for the gala function. Many distinguished guests graced the occasion. The Chief Guest for the day was a renowned Kathak Guru, Padan Bhushan Ms. Uma Sharmaji and Mr. Shankar Sahney a famous Punjabi Pop Singer was the Special Guest. The Guests of Honour were Dr.Poonam Verma, Principal, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Dr. S.K. Garg, Principal Deen Dayal Upadhaya College and Dr. Clement R Rajagopalan, Vice Principal and Associate Professor of Physical Education St. Stephens College, Delhi University, Management Members of The Indian Heights and many eminent educationists. The celebrations began with the Lighting of the Lamp ceremony, The eminent guests were welcomed with bouquet by the Chairperson and the Principal.
The school Choir along with the teachers sang Welcome Song and the Orchestra played a soothing piece of music. Chairperson, Ms. Madhu Gupta addressed the gathering and Ms. Archana Narain; Principal of the school gave a brief about the growth of the school and presented the Annual Report. Students performed Ganesh Vandana to evoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha. Later the Meritorious students were awarded with medals and certificates. The Chief Guest in her speech admired the collected efforts of the students and teachers and congratulated the school for its good work. The Chief Guest, Ms Uma Sharmaji also inaugurated the newly established Hydroponic Plant. The highlight of the program was the inauguration of the school.
Newsletter, “Essence”. In order to showcase the performance of the students, a musical extravaganza was presented. The lil’ones celebrated 100 glorious years of Bollywood. Clad in their colourful costumes and with graceful steps, students enthralled the audience while dancing to various popular Bollywood numbers. The senior students beautifully expressed the joys and sorrows of life in ‘Manthan, A Mystical Quest’. The drama was an exposition of life taken from the teachings of Shri Bhagvad Geeta. Their bedazzling performance was appreciated by one and all. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Head Girl and Head Boy of school followed by the national anthem.
