Recently, Apeejay School of Management (ASM), one of India’s leading B-Schools and a thought leader in Management Education, organized the 2nd conference of Marketing Scholars and Practitioners (CMSP)-2013 at its campus premises. Marketing Scholars and practitioners from across the country participated in the conference. It was focused onEmerging Trends, Opportunities and Challenges in Marketing.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Alok Saklani, Director, Apeejay School Management, said, “We have been organizing various conferences at our institute from time to time at international, national as well as well regional level. This conference is an annual affair and this is the second edition of it. Hope, this contemporary conference can facilitate a platform to discuss about the new emerging and evolving trends in the marketing field.”

The Technical Session of the conference revolved around various aspects of emerging trends in marketing, such as, Digital Marketing, Emergence of Social Media and Content Marketing, among others. Some of the research papers submitted by the partcipants were, Brand Association Mapping Strategies for Competitive Product differentiation, Customer Satisfaction in Health Insurance sector, Impact of Social Media activities on consumer’s purchase intentions, Role of women in the acquisition and use of household consumer durables, Innovation in Rural Market and Social Media – keep your ear to the ground.

Some other issues which were part of the conference were Evolving Brand Association mapping strategies for competitive product differentiation by Ms. Nidhi Sinha from Noida,Customer satisfaction in Health Insurance sector by Ms. Yamini Sachdev, Viral Marketing by Ms. Jyoti Doval, Impact of social media activities on consumer’s purchase intentions by Mr. Deepak Manhas & Mudasir Hussan Zarger from Jammu, Role of women in the acquisition & use of household consumer durables by Ms.Aparna Khanna, Social Media: Keep your ear to the ground by Mr. Deepak Halan & Ms. Varuna Tyagi, Viral marketing campaigns in India, Jugaad-based innovation on concept and application by Mr.Abhinav Chaturvedi, impact of increase cost of airlines on product marketing by Mr.Anil Mathur, investigating relative association of service quality on behavioral intention dimensions in the hotel industry by Ms.Jasveen Kaur, FDI in Indian retail sector strategic issues and its spill over effect by Mr. Manpreet Singh Sandhu & followed by emerging issues in rural retail marketing.

The conference brought together many Marketing Professionals, Scholars and Students in a collaborative environment to present and discuss issues relating to Marketing. The event concluded on a positive note along with bringing out some important solutions to the problems of the contemporary marketing practices.
