On October 23, 2024, under the chairmanship of Tabrez Alam Ansari, the founding director of Shams Academy School in Sunsari, Nepal, Prof. S. S. Dogra, specially invited from Delhi, India, as the chief guest, laid the foundation of Shams Global Library. In his welcome address, Tabrez Alam mentioned that he has been working for years to fulfill the dreams of his father, Shamsul Haq, who aimed to educate the regional community.
It is noteworthy that under Prof. Dogra’s guidance, four libraries have already been established in Delhi-NCR, although this is the first one he has set up in Nepal. In his speech, Prof. Dogra announced that he has brought thirty books in Hindi, English, and Urdu of twelve Indian authors, along with his five authored books for Shams Global Library with the aim of promoting the educational, mental, intellectual development of Nepali teachers and children.
The program concluded with the national anthem of Nepal recited by the host school’s student . The event was graced by the presence of over two hundred students, along with the school’s principal Mohammad Riaz Mansoori, vice principal Shoaib Ansari, senior teacher Abdul Sattar, teachers Gulshan Khatun, Rubina Khatun, Iffat, Ohida, Archana Kumari Mandal, Sunidhi Swarnkar, local youth journalist Mohsim Ansari, Majid, and local social worker Abdullah.
