AYURVEDA AT THERAPYAYURVEDA

Ayurveda literally means the Science of life. Ayur means life and Veda means science or Knowledge. Ayurveda is the traditional healing system of India. Often called the mother of all healing, it originated in India over 5000 years ago. Ayurvedic medicines are made of various herbal extracts like plants, roots, trees etc.

Your inner nature is called your constitution or prakruti, and is an individual blend of the three doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. The unique balance of these three keeps a person healthy. It is their imbalance, which causes disease. The disease is caused because of toxins created in the body over a period of time because of imbalanced diet, environment pollution etc.

Ayurveda allows us to get a glimpse of our individual true nature and to find the best ways to live a life of balance. It provides holistic understanding and healing to people on all levels: physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Ayurveda uses a multitude of healing modalities including herbs, diet, colors, aromas, sound, lifestyle recommendations, Pancha Karma, meditation, and yoga. More and more people are discovering that these ancient principles are easily applicable to modern life and that they have the power to create health and contentment.

PANCHA KARMA THERAPIES AND THEIR BENEFITS

A lot of health problems in our life is on account of what we eat and what we don’t eat. Usually, the rich and unhealthy food we eat results in a lot of toxins being stored in our body and causing various problems.

The Panchakarma Therapies from Kerala are world famous for their effectiveness in cleaning our body internally and maintaining it effectively.

This five-fold purification therapy aims at correcting the imbalance of the body’s Doshas or bio energies (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) in order to maintain their inherent equilibrium removal of Ama (toxins). Panchakarama therapy has three main stages: Poorvakarma, Pradhanakarma and Paschatakarma.

1.) Poorvakarma: This comprises of essential preliminary procedures for preparing the body for removal of stored toxins. The treatment helps loosen Ama (toxins) and move it out to the deep structures into the gastro-intestinal tract, where Panchakarama cleaning therapies can then eliminate it.

2.) Pradhanakarma: This is the second stage and includes primary cleansing therapies, which involve procedures like Nasyam, Vamana, Virechana, Vasthi and Raktha Mokshana for the actual removal of toxins.

3.) Paschatkarma: is the final stage and includes measures employed after the main treatment, such as diet, medicines and daily routine to maintain a healthy balance.

Panchakarma (five actions) is a cleansing and rejuvenating program for the body, mind and soul. It is known for its beneficial effects on overall health, wellness and self-healing. Here are some of the benefits of Panchakarma Therapies:
