The students of class V of Sri Venkateshwar International School, Sector 18 Dwarka, presented the play ‘वीरांगना – a tale of a brave warrior’ on the occasion of their Cultural Day held on August 6, 2016.
The Chief Guest for the day was the school chairman Mr. Sailander Solanki and Mr. Hemant Kumar Uppal, an eminent photographer and the founder of the NGO ‘Kaberi’, graced the occasion as the ‘Guest of Honour. The noted academician Mr Manzar Khan, who has extensively studied the world of literature, also graced the ceremony with his benign presence as the esteemed ‘Guest of Honour’.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the guests followed by the welcome address by the school principal Ms.Nita Arora. She shared her vision for an empowered future for the children.
The choir set the tone of the event by presenting a motivating song on the life of the great warrior. This was followed by a captivating dance on the inspirational song ‘Aarambh hai prachand’.
The stage was set and the curtains opened to the grand representation of the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai which carried the audience away to the historical era of Indian history. The talented students presented a wondrous display of music, dance and drama.
The audience was spellbound by the stellar enactment of the heroic tale by the young performers. The Guests of Honour appreciated the amazing efforts of the students. Primary Wing Coordinator, Ms. Renuka Chander, proposed the vote of thanks with two students.
The show culminated with a diya lit grand finale with the participants wishing for a society with greater freedom of thought and acceptance for one another.
