Dwarka Forum meeting was held with Shri A. K. Agarwal, Chief Engineer (Dwarka), Delhi Development Authority on 5th October, 2021.
The Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers of various Civil and Electrical Divisions also participated in the meeting.
Dwarka Forum (DF) handed over a letter to Chief Engineer on various Civil and Electrical issues of Dwarka Sub City pertaining to Delhi Development Authority.
DF discussed the status of various on-going projects and proposed facilities i.e. Bharat Vandana Park – Sector 20, Sports Complex – Sectors 8 & 23, Football Stadium – Sector 19, Storm water drain at Sector 8 & 20, Footover Bridges particularly Sector-1 with Sector-7, District Court with Indira Gandhi Hospital, NSIT with Sukakul Mandir etc.
DF emphasised on the urgent need of re-painting on all Zebra crossings, replacement/repairing of damaged high rise direction boards, replacement of broken/missing drain covers, repairing of broken boundary walls of DDA’s vacant plots and removal of encroachments from footpaths particularly near Markets etc.
The issue of water logging in different areas of Dwarka Sub City, particularly in the recent rains, was discussed in details.
Forum also discussed the requirements of flyovers at intersections of Sectors 1,2,6 &7, Rajapuri crossing, Dwarka Mode T-point and widening of existing Palam – Dwarka flyover for improvement of traffic conditions of Dwarka Sub City.
DF also enquired about the progress of handing over/taking over of some roads and maintenance work between DDA and PWD/ SDMC and it was informed that there is no much progress.
DF also shared the feedback received from Dwarka residents and discussed the requirements of multilevel parking facilities near Markets of Sector 6 &10, Sectors 4,5,11, & 12 as well as near Ramphal Chowk Market.
It was decided that the requirement of flyovers, multilevel car parking facilities and disposal of already earmarked vacant plots will be discussed by Dwarka Forum in details with the Planning Department of DDA.
During discussions, it was also decided that sector-wise surveys will be conducted by already nominated Dwarka Forum volunteers with Executive Engineer(s) of the respective Divisions.
DF requested for electrification of dark spot areas, replacement of rusted street light poles and removal of cables/ wires tied on DDA’s Street light poles by private cable operators/internet companies etc.
The meeting was conducted in a very good atmosphere.
The Chief Engineer and other concerned Senior officials of DDA, took a note of all the points that emanated from the discussions.
The Chief Engineer (Dwarka) assured to take all possible steps on the issues discussed and to make citizens life more comfortable.
