Competition now a day is growing each and everywhere and in order to mark its presence in global market, India needs to produce more and more professionals with absolute global business IQ. The current day academic scenario doesn’t entirely fulfill this requirement of real time exposure in students and they need to spend considerable time gaining experience in practical world as to be able to face the challenges of various industries skillfully.
Top leaders of the industry namely Mr. P. Dwarkanath, Advisor-Group Human Capital Max India Limited, Mr. Amit Agnihotri, Chairman MBA Universe, etc. participated in the interactive session and shared their knowledge and experience on the various attributes that the industry seeks in a leader and the difference between an effective leader and a good leader.
During the event, Mr. P. Dwarkanath, Advisor- Group Human Capital Max India Limited spoke about the student’s perspective towards skill gap. He opined that there is not much of a gap among students in the awareness of various career opportunities. “However, it is important that students should be passionate about the subjects and concepts that they are learning to build a good platform for a fulfilling career, there is a need to encourage R & D activities amongst the teaching faculties, so that the overall quality of imparting education improves” he said.
According to Mr. Amit Agnihotri, Chairman, MBA Universe, while interacting with the students highlighted that there is a difference between how the academia and industry perceives the skill-gap problem. He said “It is therefore important that all the stakeholders first build consensus amongst themselves so that the efforts and actions from either side ends with coherent.” He also mentions that the colleges must work towards raising the quality of education pedagogy to a level wherein the students feel empowered and confident about their career ahead of them.
