Famous actor & wrestler Dara Singh died

Aadharshila, a group of writers, artists and journalist has expressed grief on the death of worldwide famous wrestler and well known Film-TV actor Sh. Dara Singh, and said that this is an end of that era which has become the golden period of wrestling, because of him. He became the world champion after defeating the 500 wrestlers of the whole world.

Mr. Pradeep Sardana, the President of Aadharshila and senior Film-TV critic says that Dara Singh has taken the entire world in his fist because of his ultimate strength. Starting from Pandit Nehru to Indira Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, various prime ministers were in the list of admirers of Dara singh’s wrestlings, still its the matter of sorrow that he has never been honoured with even Padma Shree, though he deserves to be honoured with the most prestigious Bharat Ratna. Now the government has been awarding the players who have achieved one medal or the actors who have worked in few films, with the Padma awards to many other awards. But it is really painful and strange that the person, who had given his outstanding contribution in the field of sports, art and society for more than 60 years, the effigy of simplicity and a real gentleman, had been denied from these prestigious honours.

According to Mr. Pradeep sardana, NDA government, under the leadership of Sh. Vajpayee, after nominating Dara Singh as a member of Rajya Sabha, has improved the Government’s mistake to a level, but the previous and later governments has always been ignoring this world warrior. However Dara singh had truly written a history, when he had awarded the Veer Chakra Indian warriors of Indo-Pak war of 1965, with his personal money. Now Indian Government should honour Sh. Dara Singh with Bharat Ratna, atleast posthumously.
