Sometimes simply referred to “people skills,” social intelligence, includes an awareness of situations and the social dynamics that govern them, and knowledge of interaction styles and strategies that can help a person achieve his or her objectives in dealing with others. It also involves a certain amount of self–insight and a consciousness of one’s own perceptions and reaction patterns, said Padma Shri and Dr B C Roy National Awardee Dr KK Aggarwal President Heart Care Foundation of India.
Globalisation and advances in technology have changed how we learn, work and connect forever. Forget email, it’s now eye mail. When we meet new clients it is always easier to get that “connectedness” with the client when the meet and greet is face to face, said Mary Keightley.

Globalisation and technology have raised the bar; the challenge is now to get that “connectedness” while meeting and greeting online. This is why Social Intelligence right now has become the new science of success. We should learn to build a relationship with a person that you have never met and how to create a good first impression online.
By using the S.P.A.C.E model one can become situationally aware, more perceptive and create a connectedness with other people. Social Intelligence helps us make better judgments, improve decision making and increase our influence.
