It’s time to rejoice for the actors of Zee TV’s ‘Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein’ as the show has opened up to an extremely promising rating of 2.5 TVR in the very first week of telecast. In the wake of the channel’s brand rejuvenation exercise with an all-new logo and a positioning of ‘Umeed Se Saje Zindagi’, the show’s great opening reiterates that there’s always hope in life and good things come to those who strive hard for them!

Taking a well-deserved break from their grueling shoot schedule, actors Rajeev Verma and Gunn Kansara, who play the roles of Mr. Kaushik and Gehna Bahu respectively, are in the capital city today to unwind and interact with their fans.

While veteran actor Rajeev Verma has spent 2 years in Delhi finishing his Masters in Urban Design at the School of Planning and Architecture, Gunn Kansara has visited the city just once and remembers shopping her heart out at Janpath!

Verma recounts, “I went in for my post-graduation in architecture a good 13 years after my graduation. So all my batch-mates in Delhi were so much younger and always referred to me affectionately as Papa. And interestingly, I have gained all my recognition essaying roles of a Papa too! Delhi to me is all about the Bengali market, Pragati maidan, the café at Shriram Centre and the scrumptious parathas and chai @ Bahadurshah Zafar Marg. Let’s hope I get to relive the good ol’ days during this visit!”

Gunn is all excited about bingeing at Nirula’s and try the steaming momos off the streets. About the show, she adds, “It’s extremely encouraging that the show has met with a great response right at the outset. With such apt casting and all of us putting in natural performances, we’re confident the show will click in the times to come!”

 ‘Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein’ follows the life of Mrs. Kaushik, a strict disciplinarian, who expects her family to live by her rule-book. She has selected her 4 obedientbahus with a lot of care, each of them representing an element of nature such as earth, water, fire and air. Together, she believes, they are a well-balanced lot, making up for each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Mrs. Kaushik is now in search of her 5th bahu who she expects will be a combination of all her 4 bahus and above all else, a completely truthful person.
