HEALTH TALK SESSION on DIABETES held in Dwarka

Indira Gandhi National Open University Retired Employees Welfare Association (IGNOU-REWA) in association with Aakash Health Care Super Speciality Hospital, Dwarka, New Delhi organised a Health Talk Session on “DIABETES : SIGNS and TREATMENT” on Saturday, the 14th December, 2019 at Hospital’s Training Room. Dr S K Prasad, Deputy Chief Commissioner, (for persons with disabilities), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt of India was the Chief Guest. Prof Narsimham of IGNOU was the Guest of Honour. Dr Navneet Singh Gill, Consultant – Physician addressed the gathering on the subject of Diabetes, it’s symptoms and treatment.

Besides the members of IGNOU Retired Employees Welfare Association, good number of IGNOU in-service employees with few local residents attended this important session. Several attendees raised queries on the subject, which were well answered by the Speaker Dr Gill upto their satisfaction. During the session, more emphasis were given on prevention from the disease. Dr Gill also briefed the importance of early diagnoses of Diabetes and shared the best treatment available. The session was followed by High Tea.

All the attendees appreciated the session and requested IGNOU – REWA to have more such health talk sessions on various other topics and diseases. Shri A S Chhatwal, President of IGNOU-REWA assured to organise more such Health Talk sessions in near future.
