Sunday, December 1, 2024: Prof. S.S. Dogra, a writer, journalist, and filmmaker, was honored with the “Shri Dheeraj Trikha Smriti Journalism Award-2024” for his remarkable contributions and achievements in the field of journalism. The award ceremony was organized by Sahitya Sabha, Kaithal at the Diamond Jubilee Auditorium of R.K.S.D. College.
According to Dr. Tejendra, Press Secretary of Sahitya Sabha, the event was presided over by Dr. Chander Trikha, Director of the Urdu Language Cell of the Haryana Sahitya and Sanskriti Academy. Dr. Chitranjan Dayal Singh Kaushal, Director of the Sanskrit Cell of the Haryana Sahitya and Sanskriti Academy, graced the event as the chief guest. Other dignitaries, including Kamlesh Sharma (Patron), Sanjay Goyal (President), Amritlal Madan, and Dr. Pradyuman Bhalla (General Secretary), felicitated Prof. Dogra with a garland, shawl, a trophy, and a cash prize of ₹5101.
Notably, December 1 also marks the birthday of Prof. Dogra, who was born in Delhi. He has conducted over 326 media workshops across various cities and states in India, as well as in Nepal. Prof. Dogra has authored five books
(Media can do wonders in student’s life, Media Ek Kadam aage, Mere Humsafar, Rendezvous & WOW. and produced film like Library, Uttrakhandi warriors, Save Plant- Save Planet, Yashoda-The Himachali Warrior, Raina Hostel ki vo raat, Sports Song Music Album etc..
Currently, he serves as the Delhi Bureau Chief for Himalini, a Hindi monthly magazine published from Kathmandu, Nepal. He is an active member of the Foreign Correspondents Club of South Asia, also associated with various religious and social organizations.
