WHEN WE MET

Vijay K. Saluja

We met,
And I can bet,
The old times,
Just leapt.

We talked,
We laughed,
We were in tears,
When we held high
The glass of beer,
To say cheers!

Cheers for what? You may ask,
School friends had met,
Finally,after a long gap.
Though,we had all the
Time in the world,
To take a long nap!

Why the old friends meet,
Not very often,
As they used to do ,
When they were in college
Or in school,
Is it an act of wise
Or of a fool?

Each one has its answer,
What it is?
It is nothing , if you ask me,
But ego, indifference, lethargy.
