Development Plans Discussed at Hamirpur Press Club Meeting

A dignified meeting marked by warmth, camaraderie, and constructive dialogue was held today at the Hamirpur Press Club. Under the leadership of Club President Advocate Sushil Sharma, active members extended a heartfelt and respectful welcome to senior journalist and author Prof. S.S. Dogra, who had arrived from Delhi.

President Sushil Sharma introduced the members present — Neelkanth Bhardwaj, Vishal Rana, Kamlesh Ratan Bhardwaj, Arvinder Singh, Jasvir Kumar, Usha Chauhan, Mohanjeet Singh Chauhan, Rajesh Khanna, Surender Thakur, and Sumit Kumar. While introducing Prof. Dogra, he mentioned that though currently based in Delhi, he is originally from village Dera Parol in Hamirpur and has established a distinguished reputation at the national level in the fields of journalism and literature. On the occasion, Dr. Chet Ram Garg, Director of Thakur Ram Singh Itihas Shodh Sansthan, Neri, was also specially felicitated.

During the meeting, serious and meaningful discussions were held on the changing landscape of journalism, the challenges faced by the media, and its social responsibilities. Special focus was given to the land recently allotted to the Hamirpur Press Club by Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu-the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, support from the local administration, future development plans of the Club, the journalist welfare pension scheme and the proposed foundation laying and construction of the Club building.

In his address, Prof. S.S. Dogra expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President Sushil Sharma and all members of the Hamirpur Press Club for the respect, affection and warm hospitality extended to him. The meeting proved to be an inspiring initiative toward organizational unity, creative collaboration and strengthening the future of journalism.
