New Delhi: 10th September,2026: A delegation of the Maharishi Vashishtha Institute of Gaushala Management & Research Council called on Dr. Dinesh Sharma, the newly appointed Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, at his Delhi residence and extended warm greetings and best wishes on his new assignment.
The delegation, led by Council Chairman Sanjay Vashistha, comprised Dr. Hanumanth Rao, Gandhi Fellow and State Head, Andaman and Nicobar Islands; Senior Journalist-Author Prof. S. S. Dogra alongwith Sr. Representative Yogender Upadhyay.
During the meeting, the delegation presented a visionary proposal aimed at promoting scientific, sustainable and modern gaushala management in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The initiative seeks to explore the integration of India’s traditional knowledge and indigenous practices with contemporary scientific research and sustainable models for cow welfare, environmental sustainability and community development.
The delegation also highlighted the potential of the initiative to create greater awareness about indigenous cattle welfare while developing innovative and sustainable models suited to the unique ecological and socio-economic environment of the islands.
Congratulating Dr. Sharma on his appointment, the delegation wished him a successful and productive tenure and expressed confidence that his leadership would open new avenues of development and public welfare in the Union Territory.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on strengthening gaushala management, research, sustainable practices and community-oriented initiatives in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
