Shri G.S. Patnaik, Vice-chairman, Delhi Development Authority today inaugurated a web enabled Software for monitoring the Legal cases / Court cases of DDA by unveiling the Home page of the Software. The inauguration function was attended by Finance Member, Engineer Member, Chief Legal Advisor, Principal Commissioners and all senior officers of DDA.
G.S. Patnaik
Vice-chairman, DDA
Speaking on the occasion VC, DDA said that it is a beginning in the direction of complete computerization and that it will be an efficient tool for managing the legal cases. He said that it should be ensured that the updation of the cases is done regularly and the software should also be improved as per the feedback which will be received over a period of time. He also directed that important judgements/ landmark judgements should be attached with the cases so that it provides good reference material for future cases.

The software which was inaugurated is operational in all the District Courts, High Court, Supreme Court and Consumer Forums and on all Desk Tops in Vikas Sadan and Vikas Minar in a web enabled mode. The Law Officers of DDA are required to update the status of the Court cases and they can do so from anywhere using user IDs and Passwords allotted to them. The System will also generate weekly reports of the pendency of cases, weekly status of all court cases where the date of hearing is due. Reminders and reports will also be available in the system so that proper monitoring of the cases can be done. The System is expected to be very useful for the DDA officers for timely monitoring the Court cases so that there is adequate preparation time and presentation of case.

It may be mentioned that this System has been necessitated as in many cases due to time constraints and inadequate monitoring of the cases, the cases were not being attended to with the requisite speed and inputs. This resulted in Courts granting repeated dates in-turn resulting in delay for the Organization and Petitioners. It is expected that with the System in place there will be proper monitoring and updation of the status. As on date there are about 16000 DDA legal cases pending in various Courts and District Forums.
