Dwarka Forum Governing Body meeting with Shri Tarun Kapoor (IAS), Vice Chairman, Delhi Development Authority was held on 21st October 2019 at his office. Shri Shailender Sharma, Member (Engineering) with other Senior Officials from Planning, Engineering (Civil & Electrical), Architecture and Horticulture Departments were present.
Dwarka Forum (DF) point – by – point discussed several Civil, Electrical & Horticulture related issues of Dwarka Sub-City pertaining to DDA in details.
CIVIL ISSUES : Entry/Exit points for Dwarka: Dwarka Forum (DF) proposed to construct: i) Tunnel road in place of Shahbad Mohammadpur Railway Crossing Sector-8, ii) Over bridge or underpass at the Palam Railway Crossing, iii) Over bridge at Dwarka Morh Crossing adjoining to Dwarka Metro Station. iv) Widening of Palam – Dwarka Flyover and v) Development and beautification of entry road from Dabri Morh to Dada Dev Hospital with round about or over bridge.
Flyovers / FOBs within Dwarka: Due to heavy traffic congestion particularly on Master Plan roads, DF proposed to construct fly overs : i) On the inter-section of Sectors 1, 2, 6 & 7 at Road No.201, ii) On the inter-section of Sectors 4, 5 & Rajapuri at Road No. 201, iii) Foot over bridge near Metro Station Sector 21 and iv) widening of some roads in thickly populated areas wherever possible.
Development and disposal of vacant plots: DF brought to the notice of Hon’ble Vice Chairman that some of the vacant plots of DDA are being used as dumping ground of construction waste / garbage and requested DDA for disposal of such plots (i.e. CSC, LSC, RB, Schools, Malls etc). on priority. We also requested to speed up the pending projects/ proposed facilities i.e. Bharat Vandana Park at Sector-20, Football Stadium at Sector-19, Socio-Cultural Center at Sector-11 etc.
Parking: Dwarka Forum suggested multi-level parking facilities near main markets such as at: i) Sectors 6 & 10 market, ii) Sectors 4, 5, 11, 12 market, iii) Ramphal Chowk market near Sector 7, iv) Rajapuri market near Sector-5 and v) Dada Dev Road near Medical Council of India, Sector-8 etc.
Development and beautification of Intersections: Dwarka Forum suggests proper survey of entire sub city for development and beautification of all intersections on master plan roads to make the service roads / foot paths pedestrian friendly as per UTTIPEC Guidelines and requested for repainting of all Zebra Crossings with reflective paints. We also requested to install iron grills on central verge of master plan roads particularly on Road No.201, 224 and 226 etc.
ELECTRICAL ISSUES: Dwarka Forum requested replacement of existing sodium lights with LED lights, Replacement of rusted / junked street light poles and removal of Cables/ wires tied on the street light poles by Cable Operators / internet companies etc.
HORTICULTURE ISSUES: DF brought to the notice of Vice Chairman that good number of traffic signals and street light poles are covered with branches of road side trees hence requested for complete pruning of all road side trees at the earliest.
APPOINTMENT OF NODAL OFFICER: Dwarka Forum requested Hon’ble Vice Chairman to appoint one Nodal Officer exclusively for Dwarka Sub City to coordinate between all departments of Delhi Development Authority.
The Hon’ble Vice Chairman and all other concerned Senior Officers took a note of all the points, which emanated from the discussions. The Vice Chairman assured to take all possible steps to make citizens life more confirtable. VC also directed the concerned officials to take appropriate actions as decided, on priority.
Meeting was attended by Mr.Sushil Kumar (President), Mr.Sunil Sareen (Vice President), Mr.A.S.Chhatwal (General Secretary), Mr.P.Menon (Treasurer) and Mr.Sanjeev Goel (Jt. Secretary) of DF.
