New Delhi:4th January,2008.The 199th Birth Anniversary of Louis Braille was celebrated by Blind Persons Association(Regd.) on Friday the 4th January,2008 at Dwarka Health Club, Sector-7, Dwarka, Delhi. The celebration was inaugurated by Chief Guest-Sh. Rajesh Gahlout-Councellor & Member- D.D.A., According to Mr.Anil Verma-President-Blind Persons Association, Dwarka, Mr.Satbir Sharma-Councillor, Mr. Mukesh Sinha (Managing Editor-Dwarka City), Mrs.Suman Taneja-President-SPARSH-N.G.O. ,Mr.S.R.Kohli-Principal-S.K.V., Uttam Nagar, Mrs.Rubi Matharu-Chairperson-Lioness Club, DLF Gurgaon were honoured as Guests of Honour. According to Mr.S.S.DOGRA-Patron-Blind Persons Association, Dwarka, the Souvenir of B.P.A. was also released by the Chief Guest along with other guests. B.P.A. felicitated several students who performed well in Reading, Writing (Braille-script) and singing competitions. Hundreds of visually disabled people from different parts of the capital witnessed the celebration with great zeal. Cultural programme- vandana, poems, welcome song, gazals were the major attraction of the celebration. In the end, the annual report of the organization was read out.
