WORLD PEACE DAY CELEBRATED IN N.K. BAGRODIA PUBLIC SCHOOL, DWARKA


THEME:- PEACE—PIECE BY PIECE


In order to enthuse the spirit of camaraderie and spread the ideals of peace, N.K.BAGRODIA PUBLIC SCHOOL, DWARKA celebrated world peace day recently. The event was graced by MS KIRAN MEHRA KERPELMAN, DIRECTOR UN INFORMATION CENTRE FOR INDIA & BHUTAN. The celebration commenced with the event MY PEACE GARDEN in which saplings were planted by the esteemed guest and Principal of the school. Thereafter the chief guest and the principal flagged off the PEACE WALK which aimed at spreading peace messages in the neighbouring market complex. The students held placards of peace messages, staged skit, sang songs and raised slogans urging the people to lead a life of peaceful coexistence. White pigeons were released and colourful kites highlighting the message of peace and love were flown by the students. The students painted white T-shirts with vibrant peace messages and beautiful art depicting peace. The guest of honour appreciated the display boards and the rangoli highlighting the world peace day theme.

A short cultural programme was also organized on the occasion. The program started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and thereafter the guests were formally welcomed. A speech on the importance of peace was delivered which was followed by a hindi poem recited by the students of the middle wing. A melodious group song was presented by the students which gave the message of world peace. A peace pledge was taken by the students to promote harmony. The students of primary wing also actively participated in the event and dressed as peace leaders they enthralled the audience with their peace messages. The program culminated with a heart touching dance titled —we are the world, we are the children. The esteemed guest gave blessings to the students and interacted with them on several crucial issues. The celebration of World Peace Day was a step by the Bagrodians towards making a happy and peaceful world.
